Political Organization - Birmingham, AL, United States
Founded as the Alabama League of Environmental Action Voters in 1999, AlaLEAVs became Conservation Alabama in 2007. Our mission is to make sound environmental policy a political reality in Alabama. Since Conservation Alabama's founding, no bad environmental legislation has passed the Alabama State Legislature. As we move forward, we're looking to elect a conservation-minded majority in both Houses to enact legislation that will benefit the citizens, economy, and environment of the state. Our family of organizations complete the "cycle of accountability" for government officials. Through the Conservation Alabama Foundation, we focus on fundamental environmental issues and educate citizens on how to effectively engage government officials and the public. Through Conservation Alabama, we work with conservation partners to achieve our policy priorities through legislative and administrative lobbying. Through the Conservation Alabama Action Fund, we work to elect conservation-minded candidates for state and local offices.
