The Conservation Ecology Centre was founded to create an Otways once more vibrant with native wildlife.Our mission is to work directly on the land and strategically with people to repair and rebalance the Otway ecosystem.Programs include:1. Tiger Quoll Conservation - improving conservation through endangered species research and feral predator control.2. Potoroo Conservation - improving conservation of small mammal fauna through (a) research of a conservation sensitive species and (b) feral predator control.3. Otways Conservation Dogs - the development of a team of dogs and handlers trained to conduct wildlife surveys. (Currently 5 dogs qualified in Tiger Quoll detection and 5 under development.)4. Koala Conservation - securing habitat through land purchase and management.5. Fire Ecology - research and implementation of ecological burning on fire dependent ecosystems.
