With the mission to sell products that console and comfort while creating restorative change for our community, the Crime Victim Advocacy Center launched its social venture, Consolare, in the spring of 2011. Consolare is a line of luxury goods, with 100% of proceeds funding victim services in St. Louis. Consolare is currently focusing on scaling its signature and seasonal lines of candles, which are handmade from all-natural, U.S.A. and Missouri-grown soy wax, natural scents, organic cotton wicks and containers made in America; candles are not dyed to remain organic. With the assistance of local artisans, candles, pillows, greeting cards, and quilts are handmade by community volunteers - including ex-offenders - to contribute to the processes of restorative justice and of healing for victims of crime and violence and their families.
