College/University - N/A, N/A, CA
Directrice générale, Consortium des cégeps, collèges et universités d’expression anglaise du Québec
The Consortium of English-language CEGEPs, Colleges and Universities of Quebec is an alliance of nine post-secondary institutions representing over 140,000 students: Bishop's University, Champlain Regional College, Concordia University, Dawson College, Heritage College, John Abbott College, Marianopolis College, McGill University and Vanier College. The establishment of the Consortium was spurred by the need to research and address the disproportionately high out-migration levels of English-speaking graduates from our province.Anglophone and English-speaking post-secondary graduates, including those who have grown up in Quebec and speak French, are more likely than their Francophone counterparts to leave the province and move to other parts of Canada or elsewhere to seek employment. We take pride in the fact that graduates from our English-language CEGEPs, colleges and universities are equipped with the education, skills and knowledge to succeed all over the world. At the same time, each of our institutions is part of a rich community ecosystem. We share a longstanding commitment to building a strong, resilient and healthy Quebec. Funded by the Secrétariat aux relations avec les Québécois d'expression anglaise with the support of Bishop's University, the Consortium is mandated to explore why so many of our English-speaking graduates choose to leave Quebec in search of employment, and to seek innovative incentives to encourage them to stay in the province. For more information, please contact Celine Cooper, Managing Director at ccooper@ubishops.ca.
