The Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) is a 22-year-old non-profit 501(c)3, member-supported and mostly volunteer driven arts organization that presents some of the most experimental, community-aware, sociopolitical and in some cases, esoteric art events and exhibits, that varies in such strength, depth and subject matter.It is the CAC's mission to build, educate, and sustain audiences for contemporary art, and provides a place where artists can learn about best practices, test new ideas in the public arena, and is the premier destination to connect with fellow artists and art-enthusiasts within and beyond it's own community.The CAC was a recipient of the 30th annual Governor's Arts Award for Leadership in Organizations in 2010. This honor was presented by the Nevada Arts Council and the Governor's Office in recognition of the CAC's outstanding and enduring contributions to Nevada through artistic achievement and service to the arts. The CAC was also voted by the staff of the Las Vegas Review-Journal as, "Best of Las Vegas 2010" Art Gallery.Gallery hours are Tues-Sat 12:00 noon to 5:00pm and by appointment. Preview Thursday and First Friday of each month from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Admission is free and donations to the Contemporary Arts Center are accepted.
