A highly respected institute in the field of fine art, Corcoran Collegeof Art and Design has in its possession one of the most impressiveAmerican art collections in the world.Located in Washington D.C., Corcoran is also surrounded by some of theworld’s most highly regarded arts and cultural offerings, including 65museums and other cultural organizations.At Corcoran College, students may pursue bachelor’s degrees in Fine Art,Graphic Design, Photojournalism, Art Studies and Digital Media andDesign, among others. Master’s degrees are also offered in suchspecialized fields as Art Education, Exhibition Design, New MediaPhotojournalism and Art and the Book. An associate’s degree program isalso available, as are continuing education options.In addition to classroom and studio work, students participate inexhibits and work closely with leaders in the field.Student life helps to further cultivate the skills and creativitydeveloped in Corcoran’s degree programs. Student organizations includethose dedicated to Interior Design Majors, Book Artists, aspiring ArtEducators and future Graphic Designers.In addition to standard admissions requirements such as transcripts, apersonal essay, letters of recommendation and SAT scores, Corcoran doesrequire the submission of one’s portfolio.Eligible Corcoran College of Art and Design students may receive aninstitutional scholarship and/or federal grant. Other forms of financialaid, such as loans, may also be available.
