Corey Colmey is an active educator, performer, clinician and drumset recording artist based in central NY. His teaching experience includes private lessons for drum set, concert percussion, world percussion, as well as ensemble programs for children and adults. In addition to his current teaching posts at Utica College and Herkimer County Community College, he currently runs a private teaching practice in Rome, NY where students of all ages can come to study drumming in a relaxed atmosphere. Corey is also co-founder of the popular team building organization Lead With Rhythm.As a performer, he's traveled all over the US and abroad, sharing the stage with artists including G Koop, Fiber, The Fading Collection, Edan, DJ Craze, Solstir, Rick Montalbano, Joe Magnarelli, Swamiko, Christian Arthur, and Marc Seales. He still continues to compose, record and perform with an array of artists all over the country.Corey is a highly sought after instructor in all styles of drum set and traditional world percussion. With many years of teaching experience, and an uncanny approach to simplicity in musical detail, he is able to establish a relationship between students and their playing that will last a lifetime.
