CEI exists to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic development throughout the region. The corporation provides a structure that allows WCU faculty, staff, and students to provide resources to support aspiring entrepreneurs, regional businesses, organizations, and municipalities Since incorporation, CEI has provided DNA testing services, marketing research studies, project management training, and other revenue-generating activities through subcontracting projects out to WCU faculty, staff, and students. Through our affiliation with WCU, we are enabled to use WCU assets: labs, equipment, computers, etc. to assist an NC business in need of help. Our goals are to bring innovative solutions to local North Carolina businesses by engaging them with our industry-expert professors and star students. Because of the unique resourceful nature, the CEI is a one-stop-shop for the NC business with virtually any puzzling challenges and needs. We are committed to bringing strong economic development to NC and help businesses continue to grow.
