POUNCE, or Point Of Use Network Controlled Electrical System, is an energy conservation system consisting of smart wall outlets and switches containing a suite of sensors, a System Control Unit (SCU), and a browser-based dashboard interface. The system is highly configurable for individual applications. The sensors in the smart outlets and switches include power measurement, temperature sensing and occupancy/motion detection. The switches include a programmable manual switch. Both smart switches and outlets have automatic and remote on/off capability. All sensor data and control states are recorded and time-stamped for analysis. The system is remotely accessible via the Internet and can interface to other building management systems for the purpose of optimizing energy consumption. It also provides access to external systems for shared information, i.e. BACnet. The user can generate, filter and view reports in text and graphical format. There are many products on the market that can measure power using hardware, or calculate energy usage using software. Cortland Research is the only company that provides both of these functions and more in a single, comprehensive, user friendly system -USING REAL CAPTURED DATA.
