Costume Lighting has created a technology entitled LuMO which uses an on-body sensor to track motion, then represents that motion in the form of a change in colored light. Comprised of a tilt sensor and a small, sophisticated bit of software, LuMO links the angle of tilt or acceleration to the brightness and color of body mounted LED lighting. The LuMO effect looks very organic and natural, appearing synchronized between users. Imagine sitting on a park bench seeing a team of runners go by wearing LuMO enabled running shoes, leaving behind a pattern of color which displays how fast or efficient they're running. Picture a famous festival DJ, interacting with everyone in the audience with a LuMO wrist band just like his, he controls the lighting of the entire room, just by how dancers mimic his moves. LuMO changes light color based on a tilt angle so when people dance in unison, the color is synchronized to the same universal force. . . gravity.
