Founded on September 14, 1957, in Não-Me-Toque, Cotrijal is the largest agricultural cooperative in Rio Grande do Sul – with 55 grain receiving units in 32 municipalities in the northern region of the state, more than 8,000 members and more than 1,900 employees. Recognized for its solidity and security, its purpose is to generate value to the member in an innovative, safe and sustainable way, based on the values of cooperation, trust, focus on results and doing things well. Grain harvesting, marketing of grains, inputs and seeds, agronomic technical assistance and the production of grains and seeds are the main businesses. The storage capacity reaches 876 thousand tons and the cooperative has one of the most modern seed processing units in Latin America. In animal production, Cotrijal operates in veterinary technical assistance, origination of milk and has a modern feed factory. In the retail area, there are 21 stores, nine supermarkets and a wholesaler. Since 2000 and with 21 editions, Expodireto Cotrijal is one of the prides of the cooperative. One of the largest fairs in international agribusiness, it is focused on technology and business, making a decisive contribution to the development of the sector as a whole. Held in Não-Me-Toque, in March, the fair attracts annually, on 98 hectares, more than 250 thousand visitors and 500 exhibitors, generating a turnover of over R$ 2 billion.
