Cottage Country Pest Control offers environmentally responsible pest control in Tiny, Tay, Muskoka, Simcoe and Durham. It was originally owned and operated by Ross Proudfoot, with administrative, bookkeeping, etc. provided by me, Lauralee. And then Ross fell off a ladder and discovered that old folks don't bounce. He's much better now - but he's done. BUT our succession plan didn't work out, and we have some long standing customers and contracts - and bills to pay, too. So.... here, I am. Now, not just ordering, answering phones, and doing a terrible job of bookkeeping (I hate it!!!) but also climbing ladders, running around with sprayers, crawling under cottages, going for boat rides with people I don't know - and surprisingly enough, at least to me - enjoying it. I'm still teaching, still doing the Grandma thing, and also doing rather too much buying & selling ~stuff~ but so far it all seems to be working. My youngest kid, Jessa, has also been working with me even though she has her own business in Oshawa. She drives up most Friday evenings and stays until the jobs are done. Now that she's got a year of experience and the necessary licenses, she'll hopefully start working closer to home - pretty sure there's enough bedbugs in Oshawa for there to be room for one more. ANYWAY .....We believe in preventing issues wherever possible - and where it's not (or it's too late for that) in solving people's pest problems. And we are innovative and thorough, and we love challenges.
