Improving wealth disparity, student mental health, and gender equality in tech. 900 colleges, 500,000 users, running on revenue.Coursicle's missions: * Wealth disparity: we don't want to make the rich richer, so we don't take investment and we don't optimize for profit, and so long as we're in control of the company we never will. We'll continue to run on our own revenue. We want to show the world that money can't continue to be the end goal anymore and you can be successful without trying to squeeze every cent out of people.* Mental health: we've seen first-hand the stigma we hold toward mental illness. We believe having a safe community like Coursicle Chat (which will require .edu verification) will have a positive impact on mental health in colleges. Moreover, we plan to expand this offering to K-12 over time, which we believe will have a positive impact too. School suspensions exist right now, but there's no online equivalent of a suspension. A harasser can just create a new account with a different email, all while hiding under the veil of anonymity. That's a problem we hope to solve in the education system.* Gender equity: we want equal representation of under-represented minorities in tech in all managerial and engineering roles. We know it's important we start on this early because it's not easily corrected, and we think it's fitting that we be the ones to do this given we're a tech company started by someone non-binary and a woman. To learn about Coursicle's history and the how/why/what we do: https://www.louisandkyle.com/episodes/joe-puccio-coursicle-016
