Canadian Pakistani Support Group Association is a registered charitable organization based in Calgary. The organization aims to uplift the vulnerable population (immigrants, refugees, women, children) through diverse support programs. These programs include the access to and provision of basic needs, training, awareness, and skills development. Maskan is a program of the Canadian Pakistani Support Group Association.Maskan is a transitional shelter home that provides shelter, food, support, training and development, and connection with the community resources for women and children fleeing domestic violence.Provision of Basic needs (food, shelter, clothing) to in-house clients in the residential program.Provision of Basic needs (food, clothing, etc) to out-reach clients who moved from in-house facility to independent living.Access to resources in the community (financial support programs, child support programs, second-stage shelters, progressive housing, bank).Development of skills through short and long training programs ( awareness sessions on healthy relationships, parenting, English language program, and referrals to employment skills programs offered by strategic partners).Provision of counseling to women in-house for a smooth transition in the survival period of the victim.Provision of linkages for life skills to the victims of domestic violence. 100% of clients who had availed the shelter home services are now linked with settlement agencies, educational institutes, or employers for their self- sustainability.Provision of psychosocial support to the clients going through trauma and stress.Maskan is also a member of the Alberta Council of Women Shelters and part of an ecosystem that advocates violence against women.
