Civic & Social Organization - Provo, Utah, United States
In recent years, the creation of social value through corporations has taken center-stage in the conversation around the purpose and sustainability of business. Employees and consumers are anxiously looking for companies that are committed to both doing good, and being good. Many want to see companies contribute to the wellbeing of society and not just avoid egregious corruption and exploitation. For example, in just the last year, we've been encouraged to see businesses react to COVID-19 with more flexible work from home policies that recognize the increased needs of employees to care for family members. We've also seen the public grappling with issues of racial justice within their organizations by implementing training, policies, and leadership changes. We invite you to be part of a group of professors, students, and business professionals that wants to engage in tough conversations and be part of the solutions. As a team, we aim to collaboratively identify tools, practices, values, and frameworks that make the process of creating social value through business a reality. Each academic semester, CVO brings about 12 minds to the table to have rigorous cross-disciplinary conversations while developing organizing principles for businesses to do good and be good.
