CARE is designed to coach high school students and young adults on how to responsibly use credit and other financial services they may need in life. What sets CARE apart from other financial education programs for young adults is its team of volunteers, which consist of bankruptcy judges, lawyers, and financial professionals, who bring their real-life experiences working with individuals in financial distress into the classroom. Its core message is delivered through three 45-minute lessons on smart financial planning:Brush Up On BudgetingStudent Loans: Handle with CAREThe Truth About CreditEach presentation conforms to the National Standards in K-12 Personal Finance Education developed by the National Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy and encourages students to ask tough questions about their own financial situations so that they understand the possible consequences of poor money management and credit abuse.
