First established in 2010 by the Minister for Finance, Credit Review's role is toensure the flow of credit to viable Small & Medium Sized (SMEs) and farmingbusinesses.Credit Review provides a simple, independent, effective and affordableappeals process for SME and farm businesses who have either been refusedcredit, or have had existing facilities up to a value of €3million reduced orwithdrawn. Participating banks include; AIB, Bank of Ireland, PTSB and UlsterBank. Credit Review appeals are successful in over 90% of the cases itsupports, resulting in SME and farm businesses receiving a lending/creditsolution from their Bank.The Credit Review team includes a panel of expert professionals, acrossIreland, with front-line SME and farming finance experience. The majority ofcases are handled for a fee for just €100. Larger value cases are chargedmore, up to a maximum of €250.Credit Review professionals are credit experts who know and understand thebanking sector and how it works. They also understand what it takes to run asuccessful business. Many of the Credit Review expert panel have formerbanking experience, and all are independent of the banking sector.In addition to reviews and appeals, Credit Review is available to help allSMEs and Farms on credit matters by providing accessible, easy tounderstand and affordable expert assistance and information.
