CRIANN (Centre Régional Informatique et d'Applications Numériques de Normandie) is the regional supercomputing center and is also in charge of the regional network for research and education, providing ubiquitous access to public digital infrastructures in Normandy.CRIANN operates massively parallel supercomputers and focuses on providing technical and scientific support to researchers for porting and optimizing codes on pre-exascale computers. As one of the centers of excellence in high-end computing in France, CRIANN is working closely with GENCI, in charge of the national supercomputing ecosystem. CRIANN is also the project manager for SYVIK, the high-speed network for research in Normandy, connected to national and European backbones, RENATER and Géant. CRIANN provides regional universities with state-of-the art networking services and technical support.The "Maison Normande des Sciences du Numérique" (MNSN) project, initially driven by CRIANN, aims to create a regional expertise center in computer sciences. During the launch period, an inventory of existing needs and expertise fields will be carried within Normandie Université. Also, high-level training sessions will be organized for PhD students and researchers. Technical support on code development and optimization techniques on modern HPC architectures will also be provided.
