CS 101: Merhaba, Dünya!CS 101: Merhaba, dünya! (CS 101: Hello, world! In English) is an 8-week online program aiming to provide Turkish high school students with fundamental programming skills and promote the professional, technical, social, and personal skills following a programming education. Contrary to popular belief, CS 101 believes that programming education contributes to problem-solving, creative, and analytical thinking skills of students regardless of their preferred fields and aims to increase the self-confidence of students in those areas.CS 101 materials were prepared based on the assumption that participants have little to no programming experience and are not familiar with Python.It is our biggest dream that the program, which is currently carried out in cooperation with specific high schools, will reach more students and teachers over time.The Purpose of the Program Creating a safe, fun, and productive learning and teaching environment for all. Providing students with sustainable and long-term practical skills that they can use to further excel in their fields or interests.Supporting students' interest in STEM fields Contributing to gender equality in STEM fieldsContributing to high quality and open-source introduction to programming materials in TurkishEstablish a unique environment for the university students interested in teaching in which they can gain experience as instructors by providing them with the opportunity to teach and prepare materials for diverse audiences in collaboration with peers. InstructorsThe CS 101 team consists of 11 university students who are devoted to computer science education and believe in the value of peer-learning and teaching. Team members teach the weekly lectures alternately and prepare the necessary teaching materials. Each instructor is assigned a group of 12 students in the beginning of the program and meets with them each week for 75 minutes.
