Student Designers. Creative Innovators. Impact Makers.CSUN Impact DesignHub is a cooperative graphic design space in the Art and Design Center at Cal State Northridge. The space is directly connected to a course called Social Impact Design (formally called Graphic Seminar). Impact DesignHub provides young creatives the environment to learn and create "good design" for the "good of others." Graphic designers who want to use their unique problem-solving skills to impact their community will learn strategies, challenges, and positive insights about working towards social change. Community engagement through community-based design projects. Through design strategies teams actively participate and collaborate on a final design solutions which assist organizations and make a change. Additional, designers learn practice skills in design thinking and cause branding.Young creative designers explores various community and professional practices when designing for social change. Through community-based projects with non-profit organizations, designers learn about the many roles creative professionals can play when executing socially-minded work. Designers are challenged to expand their comprehension of design problem solving for new audiences. Design teams develop skills in design methodology for visual communication: identifying problems, design research, ideation, and implementation.
