The Connecticut Health Information Management Association (CtHIMA) represents health information professionals in Connecticut who are responsible for the management of patient health records in a variety of settings. Members are experts in health information management. Most members are active members of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and hold a variety of credentials. These credentials are issued by AHIMA based on examinations that tests one's experience, knowledge and education regarding health information. Credentials offered by AHIMA are in the areas of coding, health care privacy, health care security and records management.Our MissionCtHIMA will promote and advance national standards set forth by AHIMA in order to foster excellence through advocacy, professional development, innovation and leadership.Our VisionAs a recognized leader in Health Information Management, CtHIMA will promote the advancement of health through quality information.
