CULTIVATE is an incubator for emerging nonprofits that provides expertise in strategic planning, goal-setting, and partnerships through a 12-month, hands-on curriculum. Participating organizations are selected by a panel of community leaders who consider applications based on the CULTIVATE participation criteria.Successful startups are born from disrupting the industry's status quo. The nonprofit sector is no different. Social entrepreneurs ready to approach community issues in new and different ways will be the ones who create change and lasting impact. CULTIVATE aims to dramatically increase the likelihood of success for the leaders of emerging nonprofits in Mecklenburg County through hands-on support that encourages collaboration, critical thinking and goal-setting. The result is the creation of a roadmap to future success. The robust CULTIVATE curriculum covers foundational topics proven to generate capacity, increase impact, and achieve stability in the nonprofit and social change space. Focus areas of study prepare founders and board members to view their programs with a growth mindset and empower them to apply this knowledge in real-world circumstances.
