Founded in 1999, CCPT performs free theatre in the park for more than 2500 audience members every July and August. CCPT Mission Statement: Culver City Public Theatre (CCPT) was founded on the belief that an appreciation of theatre history is the touchstone to an understanding and enjoyment of live theatre; a source of considerable educational, inspirational, social and entertainment value to the community and to society at large. CCPT seeks to stage productions that are artistically and aesthetically both challenging and accessible to audiences of various ages, backgrounds and perspectives. In selecting our season, we seek to present plays that can be described as classic works. Specifically, plays that are compelling, yet underserved or seldom produced by most contemporary theatres; or plays that represent the excellent work of playwrights who we feel deserve more attention than they have historically received.
