Cut and Clean is a specialist concrete and asphalt cutting company.The initial business was established in 1987, initially as an owner/operator operation with one saw. Cut & Clean currently has four fully integrated sawing and recycling units and 9 employees. Refer to Attachment 1.1 for an example of a Cut & Clean integrated unit.Cut and Clean operates within metropolitan Melbourne with the majority of work being focused in the CBD and northern suburbs. Its major customers include prime contractors of the large utility companies such as Origin and CitiPower. In 2004 Cut & Clean undertook research and development of a more environmentally friendly approach to concrete cutting which subsequently resulted in it being the first to market with a sustainable, environmentally responsible solution for water conservation and waste management within the concrete cutting industry. As of the date of this report, Cut & Clean remains the only provider that has truly integrated water recycling process and environmentally responsible waste management solution. Cut and Clean have recently obtained an Australian Patent for the process and solution configuration relating to slurry recovery and separation.
