BackgroundIn 1999 I discovered HTML/CSS & procedural programming. In 2008 I discovered WordPress and began learning PHP. I work primarily in PHP, JavaScript, & the LAMP stack. I peruse other languages/technologies including: Perl, MySql, Linux, Ruby, Java, C#, ASP, & Python.I currently study JavaScript, MySql, Angular/Vue.js, & the Laravel PHP framework. Over the coming years I plan to study Node.js & WebAssembly.Between 2004 & 2009 I studied topics ranging from biology to mechanical engineering.In 2009 I graduated with a certificate in Web Design. Immediately after completing college I began teaching Web Design & Internet Marketing at Q-College (formerly VSBT).PHPPHP 5/7, WordPress 3.2+ & Laravel 4/5I began working with PHP via WordPress CMS in 2009. I've since worked in numerous enterprise-level PHP environments & spent 1,000+ hours working in Laravel.Also, I'm proficient with MySQL & have experience handling large data sets (tables >1gb).JavaScriptES5/6, Vue, Angular, jQueryI've worked with JavaScript for nearly 20 years. For the last 5 years I've studied the functional programming paradigm in depth.I'm familiar with several versions of jQuery; as well as, familiar with node.js environments.My most recent JavaScript project was developing an asynchronous Vue.js front-end for U.S. business market research reports. I also know ionic.js for cross-platform mobile apps.HTML/CSSI'm familiar with most DOM best-practices / nuances & am always learning more.Since the advent of CSS3 & HTML5, I've continued to update my skillset. Most recently I've begun exploring CSS' flexbox rules.I also know LESS, SASS, Jade, Moustache/Handlebars, & Markdown.Soft SkillsCommunications, Education, Graphic-Design, Systems AdministrationI pride myself on my written & verbal communication skills, patience, accountability, & honesty.One of the things I enjoy most is sharing knowledge, be it giving or receiving. I'm fluent in Adobe Creative-Suite MS/Open/Libre-Office & Gimp for Linux.In addition to being an accomplished software developer I'm a capable systems administrator. I have worked with Windows, Macintosh & Linux Networks / Software / Hardware for 15+ years. I have advanced knowledge of several command-line tools, including: git, vagrant, ffmpeg, & wkhtmltopdf.
