Daily tous les jours leads an emergent field of practice combining technology, storytelling, performance and placemaking to reinvent living together in the 21st century.Over the past ten years, the Montreal-based art and design studio has signed over 40 original artworks in more than 30 cities around the world.-- BEST KNOWN PROJECTS --Some of DTLJ's best known projects include: 21 Balançoires, set up every year in the Quartier des Spectacles in Montreal; Musical Swings, a project inspired by the balançoires that has travelled all over the USA since its creation; and Musical Shadows, that reacts to the shadows of passerby with the sounds of singing voices. Last year DTLJ also presented Hello Trees! in Houston TX, a walking serenade with light animated arches and most recently in 2018, they created the meditative experience of I Heard There Was a Secret Chord, presented at the Musée d'Art Contemporain de Montreal as part of the Leonard Cohen exhibition called A Crack in Everything.-- AWARDS -- DTLJ's work has won numerous international recognitions including Best in Show at the IxDA Interaction Awards, the Grand Prize at the UNESCO Shenzhen Design Awards, a Knight Cities Challenge for Civic Innovation, a Fast Company Innovation by Design Award, and an Americans for the Arts Public Art Network Award. The studio is also very active in the design and digital arts communities, giving lectures and workshops worldwide, notably at SXSW, EYEO, INST-INT, New Cities Summit, TEDx, Ars Electronica. Daily tous les jours is based in Montreal and was co-founded by Melissa Mongiat and Mouna Andraos.
