Dairy Council Health Foundation is a separate, non-profit charitable organization that draws on the knowledge, management skills and staff of American Dairy Association and Dairy Council (ADADC), Inc., to function. ADADC, a dairy farmer-funded not for profit organization, formed as a membership non-stock corporation, which executes programs of promotion, publicity and nutrition education to support the efforts of its dairy farmer members. . With the number of dairy farms decreasing across the country and income levels unchanged from more than 20 years ago, ADADC was compelled to narrow its focus. ADADC's marketing direction changed from direct advertising to consumers, to working with influencers to support its members. To continue its efforts in reduction of obesity and other chronic diseases in its area youth, and work with other organizations and foundations to improve the healthy and lifestyle of our area communities, ADADC found it necessary to establish the Dairy Council Health Foundation to take over this responsibility.
