The "Society" was chartered in October, 1938. It's purpose is to provide a forum for people engaged in any phase of the dairy industry, or other food industry, or who provide goods and/or services to the dairy or food industry, or college level student, or others, who have an interest in the "Society" and it's programs.Programs presented by the "Society" include, but are not limited to:Lectures (or talks) by well known or lesser known authorities in their field.Audio/Visual presentations with or without guest presenter.Panels of (two or more) presenters with differing views of opinion on a subject.Tours of facilities, to witness first hand the process (es) utilized.Our membership is a two tier arrangement, where companies and organzations become members, known as "Affiliate Members." Affiliate Members pay annual dues which are dedicated 1/2 for Colliegiate Scholarships and 1/2 to support efforts of the University of Maryland or the Dairy Technology Society to promote excellence, understanding and employment in the dairy and food related industries. The 2nd of the "Society's" two tier membership, is for personnel, which we call: "Regular Members." Regular membership dues are used to fund the expenses of operation.
