We are a group of Syrians living in Syria and abroad, who gathered for the love of Damascus city and managed to establish a cornerstone of a nongovernmental society. This society aims at regaining the cultural superiority of Damascus, and seeks to provide assistance for the inhabitants of Damascus and its countryside to restore the social fabric and renovate the cultural and historic heritage of the oldest populated city in the world. Vision:We are looking forward to regaining the civilized brilliance and the cultural, social and political role of Damascus city as well as helping its inhabitants lead a life of dignity and comfort under a civil and democratic state.Mission:Damascus lovers' society endeavors to serve Damascus city and its countryside by restoring the role of individuals in building their community, and seeks to fulfill the needs of the city by monitoring the performance of the decision-makers in the government and exert pressure on them for the benefit of their city. On the other hand, the society aims to build strong relations with other Syrian civil organizations with a view to build up the Syrian person and state equally. Damascus lovers' guarantees transparency and respect among its members and makes every effort to reflect this transparency on its relations with other organizations and individuals of the civil community. Objectives:1- Restoring the historic and cultural heritage of Damascus2- Maintaining and developing the historic and artistic architectural pattern of Damascus3- Improving the standards of living of Damascus inhabitants4- Improving the educational and professional level of the inhabitants of Damascus and its countryside5- Restoring the green spaces of Damascus and reviving Al Ghouta area6- Reviving Barada River7- restoration of the role of the Damascene woman in the society and promoting her capabilities8- Encouraging social communication among all families and components of the Damascene society
