DAME is a sustainable personal care brand on a mission to turn the bathroom green. We believe urgent action is required to reverse the fortunes of our planet. That's why we're rethinking the products we use every day to reduce waste, plastic and chemicals that damage our environment. We offer high-performance alternatives, made in a low-impact way, so you can enjoy the products you already use, with the environmental standards you live by. Our first target: tampons. Back in 2015 DAME co-founders Celia and Alec ran a period subscription service, delivering a whole range of branded products to women across the UK. It was here they saw first-hand the impact tampons were having on our bodies and the planet. They believed women, and the planet, deserved a better choice. Here DAME was born. Two years later they launched D, the world's first reusable tampon applicator on Kickstarter, and were overwhelmed by the response. They exceed their target in just 4 days, received worldwide media coverage and secured backing from customers in over 50 countries. It was clear that women were ready for more sustainable choice. Since then DAME has saved 130 million pieces of single use plastic from going to waste and certified as a B Corp, demonstrating that business can be used as a force for good. We've received a revered Dezeen Design Award and achieved a finalist place in Fast Company's 2019 World Changing Ideas Awards. D, our reusable tampon applicator and our range of organic, toxin free tampons are available nationwide in Waitrose and shipped globally from our website.
