DanceXchange is an internationally known dance organisation based in Birmingham, dedicated to making and showing great dance. We set out to involve artists and the wider community in our work - and we're proud to be an important part of making Birmingham a place where dance artists can live, work and thrive. We are a registered charity - Reg.1045364OUR AIMSAs an art form, dance can transform the way we see the world. That's why we aim to make dance as widely accessible as possible. We want everybody to enjoy the positive transformations dance creates. Wherever and whenever we can, we use dance to inspire and excite.OUR VALUESDanceXchange never compromises on artistic quality. We aim to make every aspect of our shows, support and facilities the best they can possibly be. Our work is artistically ambitious, entertaining, and engaging.OUR WORKDanceXchange presents and produces some of the best UK and international dance performance. We support artists to create and develop their work. And we nurture talented young performers, choreographers and leaders. Our regular dance class programme offers a wide range of styles and levels for all ages and abilities, and offers a fun way to stay fit and healthy. We also work in community settings with local partners, engaging people through dance and movement-based activity. Our biggest project is International Dance Festival Birmingham. IDFB is an award-winning biennial festival and a highlight of the city's cultural calendar – bringing people together, providing new experiences, attracting visitors and contributing to the local economy. IDFB brings fantastic international dance to the city's theatres, takes over Birmingham's streets and squares with exciting free performances, and creates lots of opportunities for people to take part. It also offers great visibility for sponsors and partners. We are now developing IDFB 2018, which will run from 1-24 June 2018.
