Danielle Byron Henry Migraine Foundation was established in March 2016 to increase public awareness of migraine disease and its impact on patients, their families, and society. Our mission is to raise awareness and provide support and access to treatment for those living with migraine disease, especially young adults and children. Our vision is all migraine patients are minimally impacted by their disease.Beginning in January 2017, we established Headache School in partnership with the University of Utah. Headache School offers free, bi-weekly educational lectures and therapeutic yoga sessions. Past didactic sessions are available on YouTube. Our next goal is to facilitate the education and training of physicians to recognize the symptoms of migraine and begin treatment to help prevent progression of the disease. The Association of Migraine Disorders has created an online CME Training Program for primary care providers, and we will co-sponsor the distribution and promotion of this program nationwide. This program will enable a wide range of medical professionals to diagnose and treat migraine disease. We are also partnering with the Migraine Research Foundation to support the 2017 Impact Award, funding research in new daily persistent headache in children. On June 21, we are hosting our third Shine Her Light, an evening of celebration and an opportunity to engage and educate our community about migraine and to support those with migraine.
