JOHN R. DARIN is Board Certified by the Florida Bar as a specialist in workers' compensation law. He has over thirty years of litigation experience. John has handled a variety of cases from minor workplace injuries to more complex matters such as industrial exposures, occupational diseases and death claims. John was a member of the legal team that reduced the workers' compensation costs of General Motors' Buick Division by 48% between 1979 and 1983. John also represents individuals in divorce, support, parental time sharing, relocation and modification cases. As an active member of the Florida Association of Self-Insurance's (FASI's) Legislative Committee, John worked with its lobbyist in recommending and drafting proposed legislation; John also served on FASI's Board of Directors from 1992 to 2010 and was the editor for FASI's quarterly newsletter, The Update, for a number of years. In addition, John is the editor of a weekly E-Workers' Compensation Case Law Review. In April of 2008, John co-presented oral argument before the Supreme Court of Florida on behalf of the Respondents in Murray v. Mariners Health/ACE USA.In addition to his many professional distinctions, John was awarded a Third Degree Black Belt in Karate on June 5, 2006 and he has also completed New York City and Detroit Marathons.
