Through Project Employment, DSDS delivers Disability Employment Services (DES) to people with a disability, illness, injury and/or associated barriers, living within the greater Darwin area. DES services are delivered via one program, that is designed to meet the specific needs of individual jobseekers, to secure open employment and develop independence in the work place..We provide the following employment assistance to our clients:- Employment preparation including pre-employment training- Job search and placement support either individually or by participating in our Job Club- On the job support and training.Our experienced staff members support workers with a disability in their employment by assisting with workplace orientation, facilitating inclusion into the work team and providing on the job training and support until they are able to complete tasks and follow work routines to the standard required by the employer.Once the worker with a disability is consistently meeting the workplace standards for quality and productivity our staff members gradually withdraw from the workplace.Our ESS program is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Social Services.
