Daryl McCulley is a DJ/Producer born in the UK. He was originally in to the harder side of dance music and, after a few years developing his skills behind the decks, landed his first gig aged 16. During this time he played at venues with big names including the late, great Tony De Vit and John ‘oo' Fleming.By 18 he could be found at pretty much every major event listening to different styles and DJs; it was during Creamfields in 2000 that he started to gain a passion for house music. This was due to DJs like Erick Morillo, who would build and shape his set around the influence of the crowd, along with the then, fairly new to the scene, Yousef.Whilst travelling the world, Daryl had the chance to play at clubs in Mexico, New Zealand, Australia and Thailand. 2005 was spent in Ibiza, working alongside some of the biggest promoters and events on the island, promoting nights and organising pre-parties. Working at Club Paraiso (now Ibiza Rocks Hotel), he played numerous times, warming up for DJs including Mauro Picotto and Pete Gooding, among many others. Mondays were spent DJing on the weekly Club Cruz, full of some of the islands craziest clubbers, most on the return from Space and other events. During the height of summer, sets were also played at Eden Rooms, Itica and Privilege.Daryl has now also turned his hand to production, and after time honing his skills, he has tracks signed with worldwide support from big names like Hernan Cattaneo and, more recently, prime-time plays on BBC Radio 1 by Judge Jules.Currently living in Sweden, he has played in many of the clubs around the country, gaining support from others in the industry. He was also a winner in the WeSC 2009 DJ competition, which resulted in playing at one of Sweden's largest festivals, Arvika. With tracks signed and due for release in 2010, numerous productions in the pipeline and an ongoing DJ schedule, it looks to be an exciting year.
