The purpose and goals of this student organization is to promote the enterprise of data science in the undergraduate and graduate student body. A strong emphasis is put on the technology stack required to carry out a data science project, and the underlying research perspective those projects require. The organization is open to any major, underscoring the importance of varied domain knowledge as one of the challenges the field faces. To this end, the organization seeks to assist faculty and businesses, through the university, in their data science endeavors, and mentoring students in the craft.
