Nonprofit Organization Management - Body of Christ, TX, United States
The Davedi Club was founded in 1952 by many Italian Immigrants whose names are still prominent in North Bay today. First Meeting in the new Building - Wednesday, November 25, 1953 Our founding fathers took the first two letters of the names: Dante, Verdi, and DiMaggio, establishing the name DAVEDI to represent our community with education, music, and sports at the forefront of our focus. Today our membership consists of 300 Men, Ladies, and Youth Members who come together at monthly Ladies Auxiliary and General Meetings while we reach nearly 1000 homes with our Italian Pride Newsletter. Our Families and friends are invited to Cultural events such as Dances, Picnics, Sing-alongs, as well as sporting events like Golf, Ping-Pong, and Scopa Tournaments. We welcome the entire community to celebrate with us at events like our Grape Stomping Festival, New Years Gala, and the Club's Anniversary. Davedi opens its doors to the public for Craft Shows, Spaghetti Suppers, Friday Lunch Buffets and we offer Homemade Italian Frozen Food daily. Our Dante Hall has been host to hundreds of Wedding Receptions, Banquets, and Conferences featuring our famous Italian and Canadian cuisine. In addition to promoting our culture, the Davedi Club has actively supported local and international charities though various fundraisers, such as our Annual Order of Merit Awards Ceremony, and hosted events for many other local charities. Through the recent launch of www.davediclub.com, new interest in our Children's Italian Lessons and the expansion of our Youth Group, the Davedi Club will continue to modernize through continued investment in the next generation of Italian-Canadians.
