Farming - Mono, Ontario, Canada
I grew up in a house half buried in extensive, lushly beautiful, Anglo-African gardens, with pomegranates beckoning at my bedroom window and the gardener, gentle, tolerant, and mostly silent as I trotted after him, jabbering like a small blond monkey. And ranging forested foothill of the starkly stunning Drakensberg Mountains with African buddies, all of us naked and unafraid, feasting on the wild bounty of the bush - paw paws, granadillas, mangoes and the exquisite custardy small plump, pink-flushed bananas. So, I am a child of privilege, the privilege of being introduced to Eden early at my most open, impressionable, and fearless moment, never to go back. Those early experiences of Nature Africa set me on my life's course. In my garden designs I have worked obsessively to understand the laws of nature and plants and out of my love for both I have never stayed still, not stopped inquiring and innovating. The results have been that I have managed to recreate the explosive growth and productivity of my sub-tropical birthplace in cool and temperate Canada. .
