Dawakhana Tibbiya College (DTC) was founded on a very modest budget in 1954 under the hegemony of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh as the subsidiary of Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College Hospital, with the prime, precise and concise goal of uplifting and continuing the art of Unani System of Medicines in India.Providing quality and guaranteed effective Unani medicines, which at that time were steadily declining was the primary motive of establishing a manufacturing unit of Dawakhana Tibbiya College (DTC) at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh.It began with a meagre financial help, eventually thriving and evolving into a fully-fledged business organization. These were the theories, the opinions and the futuristic vision of Lt. Mr. Zakir Hussain, the great visionary former President of India. Dawakhana Tibbiya College (DTC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh was founded under his stewardship as a Vice-Chancellor (1948-1956).In order to preserve the full characteristics of each and every ingredient, the production technique at Dawakhana Tibbiya College (DTC) is a combination of modern technology and ancient extraction processes.Under the guidance of Dawakhana Tibbiya College (DTC) Management, an experienced team of more than 200+ junior and senior staff are working here in Aligarh, to serve selflessly in the service of humanity.Dawakhana Tibbiya College (DTC) currently manufactures more than 400 forms of Unani medicines and syrups, which includes the renowned brain tonic ‘Dimagheen', 'Khamir' (fermented confection), 'Arqsazi' (sap), ‘Dawasazi' and syrup.Recently, a new 'state-of-the-art' Dawakhana Tibbiya College (DTC) manufacturing facility, comprising of fully automatic machines, was inaugurated in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Qila Road, Aligarh, in order to modernize the development and ensure quality control of the Unani medicines.
