Textiles - Cerrione, Piedmont, Italy
De Martini has been working in the textile-manufacturing field since 1960.In 1973, with the experience acquired in processing synthetic fibres, it took up a new challenge and started to produce capillary flow-control filters that are used as reservoirs in writing instruments, in the field of cosmetics and in air fresheners. In 1986 a plant was set up for producing polyester fibres for specific uses that enabled the product range and relative applications to be extended. In the 1990s De Martini created a division, DBT FIBRE spA, that continued the textile business by developing and producing mixed fibres and webs for spinning. The new De Martini SpA thus concentrates almost entirely on designing and manufacturing capillary flow-control filters giving a great impulse to new applications, and new, especially foreign, markets, and has forged the partnership with the Hitkari group based in Mumbai, India. The company produces and markets acetate, polyester and polypropylene fibre filters and supplies the world's leading manufacturers of writing instruments, air-freshening devices and beauty care products.
