Debateables is a debate, research and education social media website centered around Debate Groups whose purpose is to provide communication and support to like-minded people who sharpen their minds through the rigors of debate. Members of a group can join a debate and gain assistance from others in the group if needed before, during, and after the debate. Each group has a moderator who is responsible for ensuring the safety and education of the group. Each member of the site has a profile which contains their username, basic and background information such as their education, and experience, and expertise. Members also have quick access to their groups, friends, and each member can write papers, and blog about a topic in which they are interested. Their papers and blogs can be critiqued by the community or kept private.Each group has a news feed, a forum, and the ability to create polls on the group page. The news feed is for continuous group conversation which any member can add updates at any time. Each group also has a forum where the Group Moderator can add Topics of Interest to the group – The Group can post Group News, Updates, Group Policies, Topics of Discussion.The Debate section is where members of groups "debate the debateables". Members can reply to comments, agree with comments "like", or disagree with comes "dislike", and rate the debates on a 1 to 5-star scale. Members an also subscribe to debates and get updates on the activity types they choose such as comments and/or "likes" on their comments.Debatesables.com is social networking centered around groups of like-minded people learning together, researching, and debating topics of interest.
