DEBRIS is a bi-annual independent literary magazine. We publish short stories, creative non-fiction, interviews, reviews, poems and more. DEBRIS refers to remains: leftovers, scattered pieces, detritus, refuse. We nominate ‘debris' as a name to reflect the stories and voices that are not traditionally heard in contemporary Australian society. DEBRIS is a bi-annual literary magazine that aims to publish creative and critical writing with cutting-edge design. We connect mainstream Australian audiences with diverse and lesser-known Australian worlds and experiences across Victoria. We published our first issue ‘Grief' in August 2021. DEBRIS Magazine is based in Narrm (Melbourne) where we live, work and write. We acknowledge the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of these lands, waterways and stories. We extend our respects to elders past, preset and emerging, and to all First Nations people.
