DECA McGill is a Collegiate Division of DECA Inc., which is an international undergraduate business association that includes 15,000+ members spanned over 200 colleges and universities worldwide. At it's core, DECA presents students with case competitions; they are given a specific problem related to their chosen subject field including: marketing, entrepreneurship, and finance. Students must then present a comprehensive solution to a panel of industry experts. DECA is distinguished from other case competitions in that students are given only 15 - 30 minutes to prepare a presentation and therefore must be very quick-thinking, well-spoken, and logical. DECA McGill's goal has always been to provide its members with the opportunity for personal growth VIA a two-dimensional approach: Case Competition and Professional Development. Members are trained yearlong for case competitions at the Local, Provincial, and International level. These case competitions push our members to hone their soft skills and develop the ability to critically analyse and improvise under pressure. The Professional Development aspect is integrated through various networking events with industry professionals as well as numerous workshops relating to CV building and Etiquette just to name a few. We strive to not only expand our network, but to also continue offering our diverse membership the opportunity to build on themselves to become not just the leaders, but the innovators of tomorrow.
