Incorporated in 1982, Deep Sea Fishers Limited is a pioneer in Bangladesh in deep-sea fishing. Bangladesh has a coastline 480 km long and exclusive economic zone is about 322 km (200 miles) seaward from the base line. The Bay of Bengal offers potential sources of fisheries for Bangladesh although most its vast resources yet remain unexplored.DFSL has a fleet of 4 state of the art deep sea fishing trawlers (2 Shrimp and 2 Fish trawlers) for deep sea fishing, with most modern freezing capacity to retain the freshness of the catch.DFSL also has its own cold storage facilities on shore and its own dockyard for the maintenance of their vessels. These facilities allow the company a leading edge in the market for quality of the products and a competitive lead in price.Besides local sales, DFSL exports shrimps and fish to Japan, Thailand, and China and constantly looking out for further expansion of its market. DFSL employs 300 staff.
