Defensive Mindset is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Crystal and Luke Wedel. Crystal and Luke are active in shooting and self-defense communities and are passionate about teaching individuals from all walks of life ways that they can protect themselves and their families using proven and reliable techniques. At Defensive mindset, we believe in "layers" when it comes to self defense and personal protection. We also believe strongly in the old saying that "Not every problem is a nail and not every solution is a hammer." Having, and appropriately using, the right toolsets in various situations can mean the difference between becoming a victim and getting home safely. We train individuals to have planned responses instead of unplanned reactions to situations where you may need to defend yourself or those you love. Luke has over 15 years of martial arts experience, personal protection and event security experience, and has been involved with firearms and hunting his entire life. Crystal is an avid and skilled firearms practitioner who became involved in self-defense and personal protection after Luke was diagnosed with brain cancer. Realizing that Luke wouldn't always be around to protect her, Crystal began focusing on unarmed and armed self-defense teqniques that someone of her small stature could effectively deploy in various confrontations.
