Modeling faith through film."The greatest issue facing the world today, with all its heartbreaking needs, is whether those who, by profession or culture, are identified as ‘Christians' will become disciples." — Dallas WillardThe challenge for church leaders today is not very different from the challenge Jesus faced in his ministry: How do you make disciples? Similarly, the challenge for individual Christians today is: how do you live out faith in everyday life? Jesus made disciples by not only teaching but also allowing them to follow him around every day. He modeled faith in everyday life so that they could go and imitate him. The unfortunate reality is that the main way Jesus taught discipleship is largely absent in the church today. We don't need more teaching, we need more tools for modeling.Christians need practical examples to follow. In today's media driven culture, more and more people are being impacted by visual storytelling. By 2015, Americans will consume media for more than 1.7 trillion hours, or an average of 15.5 hours per person per day. With the Internet, people are consuming, demanding and sharing video content. In fact, the next generation is "born digital first;" they're born swiping screens and devouring videos before they can even talk. How are these facts changing the way people learn and more importantly, how can church leaders engage their media savvy congregations?Enter video.Through video, the church can once again follow and imitate mature disciples. Deidox Films (DF), a 501(c)(3) organization, was formed for the charitable purpose of supporting local churches and their mission to make disciples of Christ that live out their faith and have a desire to redeem culture. The mission of Deidox Films (DF) is to put powerful videos in the hands of churches and parachurch organizations so that they can more effectively engage and shepherd their "digitized" audiences.
