The Delhi Policy Group (DPG) is an independent think tank that works towards forging non-partisan consensus on issues of critical national interest and policy formation.The DPG was founded in 1994 as India's first independent think tank. In the past two decades it has stimulate fresh thinking and contributed to strategic planning and policy development through analysis, honest criticism and interaction.The salience of DPG lies in its independent, autonomous and non-partisan character. Its work spans a wide canvas covering National Security, Foreign Policy, Peace and Conflict, Disarmament and Governance, generating debate, outreach and understanding. A large number of recommendations identified by DPG scholars have been accepted by the Indian Government as those of other countries, institutions and organizations.Over the past 20 years the DPG has been tasked frequently by the Indian Government agencies and multilateral institutions to undertake studies and programs with policy recommendations, especially in the fields of Peacemaking, Conflict Resolution, Disarmament and National Security. Its work with respect to Kashmir and Afghanistan has won universal acclaim.
