Delmar-Bethlehem EMS Details
The Delmar Fire Department Rescue Squad was organized in 1939. The squad's first ambulance was a converted 1934 Packard hearse, donated by Peter Applebee. Mr. Floyd Irons served as the first Captain. The squad's next ambulance was a 1948 Packard. In 1960, a Cadiallac ambulance was received. At that time the rescue squad was answereing approximately 20 calls per month. On January 1, Delmar EMS became Delmar-Bethlehem EMS. Delmar EMS and Bethlehem EMS began joint operations on January 1, 2013, with a full merger to be completed during 2013.
