DeltaSea - Marine Debris Collection System is a new technology for collecting plastics and other marine debris from water surfaces. The technology can be customized for operation in coastal areas, river deltas, lakes, and open ocean environment. DeltaSea is a technology developed specifically for the purpose of collecting plastics and other marine debris that is located on or below water surface. The system comprises a unique arrangement of the Archimedes Helicoid elements that are engineered to form a self-buoyant, self-propelling assembly that effectively collects plastics and other debris in order to enable its further processing. DeltaSea offers major advantages over the currently available technologies that are used for this application. Its unique principle of operation results in high energy efficiency, which enables the system to be powered by solar energy. Furthermore, the system can operate autonomously while being monitored and controlled from an on-shore control station. The main components of the DeltaSea system can be made from the recycled plastics.DeltaSea technology is uniquely suitable for collecting plastics accumulated away from shores in open ocean environments. This includes removal of plastics pollution accumulated within the ocean gyres - in the so called garbage patches. DeltaSea system will also provide a valuable tool to ports, terminals, hydroelectric plants, resorts, and other organizations that require removal of debris from water surfaces.DeltaSea will be provided with design features, as well as monitoring and control systems to enable its safe interface with sea traffic and the marine life. The technology and associated operating systems are proprietary and patent pending. We believe that DeltaSea technology will provide significant contribution to the efforts to clean the plastics pollution, which is among the greatest environmental challenges of today.
