Founded in 2012 to support Americans abroad on the McGill University campus, our main objectives include:• Helping members of the McGill community navigate the absentee voter process through on-campus voter registration drives• Organizing opportunities for student activism, primarily through phone banking, campaigning for progressive candidates, and organizing canvassing trips to upstate New York and Vermont• Hosting social gatherings where students can view major political broadcasts, such as debates, elections, State of the Union addresses, etc. • Providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for political discussion and debate pertaining to the Democratic Party's interests• Acting as a liaison between McGill students and Democrats Abroad Montreal, Democrats Abroad Canada, Democrats Abroad, and the Democratic Party• Welcoming students, regardless of their country of citizenship, to participate and learn about U.S. politics and the Democratic PartyReach out to us at demsabroad.mcgill@gmail.com for more information!
